The Chacón family owns the farm Las Lajas since 1936. When the younger generation took ower the farm in the early '90s, they changed the attitude to the growing and became the first organic farm in the country. Oscar and his wife were also one of the first farmers in Costa Rica who started to process their coffee by natural method. Firstly they had to use this method in 2008 when the country was hit by an earthquake. Thousands of people were left without the water and electricity supply, so Oscar decided to process the entire harvest by the natural. It was a success and they keep it doing till now!
This coffee is really unique, which is the main reason why it obtained more than 90 points in the official sensory evaluation. It has high sweetness and pleasant flavour of blueberry and figs.
